It’s been a couple of weeks since I started this blog and I have to say that I’m really starting to like it. For all of those things that I always forget about now I have a place to document everything. As well, writing is something that I don’t do a whole lot of so the practice is good. I just don’t like this web based app for posting. I can’t wait till I get my laptop and I can get a little applet to do this all for me without having to login.
still doing a lot of dreaming about the laptop… need that student loan.
I’ve been trying to think of things that I can do for volunteer work around here. But it’s difficult because I don’t have a car, I work on assignments evenings and weekends and have school all day. According to Colum I need to get involved if I plan on going to Mcgill for a masters sometime because it’s so competitive to get in.
I’ve been thinking about my plans for the summer will be and it looks like its going to be a bit of confusion yet again. If I can get a job in NF, I’ll take it. I’ve taken an interest in the summer language bursary program offered by the federal govt which is a 5 week French immersion program, but that seems too difficult to fit into a schedule for the summer. Which is unfortunate. Whelan said I should contact Judy Hearn about a job at consilient, she’s head of marketing or something, that might be a good contact. What I was thinking about was.. what am I going to do with all the stuff I have here for the summer. There’s only really two choices.. I can find a place to store it or box everything up and send it home. I don’t really have a lot of stuff… I never bought any furniture so it’d only be a couple of boxes worth of stuff. I’d want to send home my bike and PC. The stuff I could leave behind would be:
Monitor, winter cloths, blankets, kitchen stuff, some books… no more than 3 boxes.. but to send that in the mail home, would cost no more than $150…. which is cheaper than paying for storage for 4 months I’m sure.
It’s going to be a problem getting all my stuff to the post office without a car.
Well if I decide to stay I’ll have the problem of needing to find a place to live for the summer, I’ll have to apply for more student loans and register for classes. The dates are what I’m worried about.
After this term I think I’ll need to take a break, earn some money, and do some programming.
Argh its frustrating to not know what’s going to happen.
