I’ve set a new goal for myself.
I want to save 20% of my gross income and invest it. I’m going to do it by weening myself off of my own money. Currently I’m saving 5% by automatically transfering $50 every week from my chequing to savings accounts. Tomorrow I’m going to double my contribution to $100/week. Once I get used to that level I’m going to bump it up by $10 every now and then until I get it up to $200/week.
At $200/week I’ll save $10,400/year. It’s an agressive goal, but one that I think is possible to achieve, unlike many of my other ideas.
