One of the things that we surprisingly haven’t done since we moved to BC is gone camping. It’s quite a bit more popular here than I realized.
I tried yesterday to book a campsite and found that almost none of the provincial campsites within driving distance of Vancouver have any available spots for the next 2 months! I had to book my spot for mid September.
We’re going to be going up to Alice Lake which is close to Whistler.
There’s obviously some pretty intense demand for designated campgrounds here in BC. Perhaps that’s why the option to Walk-in is so popular. Almost all of the parks will allow you to walk in and set up a tent anywhere for free. That bypasses the whole 2 month waiting list for a campground.
I’d like our next camping trip to be an overnight hike.
