This whole new bike thing is new to me. The last part of the actual manufacturing process is to actually ride the bike to let the parts heat up and cool down a few times. This mates all the engine parts where the gaskets are and the expanding and contracting will probably cause some of the bolts to loosen a bit during the first 1000km.
It’s kind of unnerving to ride away on a brand new bike with 0km on the odometer and smell burning plastic. But it’s just the engine fusing together.
So over the next week I’m going to try to put some Kms on the bike.
We’re hoping to take it camping if the weather is good next weekend. That should be a good test of how well it will do on longer rides.
